Meet the Team - Autumn Jordan

When Autumn isn't handling customer service or greeting folks in the shop, you can find her working in her ceramics studio or using her green thumb to remind us all to water our plants.

Where are you from?
I currently call Catskill, NY home!

What do you do at MINNA?
I wear a few hats! I spend a few days at the shop on Warren Street,  handle customer communications, and take photographs sometimes, too!

How did you get started with MINNA? 
MINNA has been one of my favorite brands since my introduction to the kitchen textiles at Queen of Swords in Somerville, MA over 4 years ago! Flash forward a few years later, and the Hudson Valley is my home, and I’m lucky to call Sara and the team at MINNA my friends. You could say it was all just sort of kismet.

What does working ethically mean to you?
Feeling proud everyday of the brand I’m representing. The ability to be honest and open about our work and our process. And being passionate about sharing all of this information with our customers!

An unexpected day off looks like…
Spending the first few hours of morning light at the ceramics studio with copious amounts of coffee. An afternoon swim at my favorite secret swimming hole, or driving up into the Catskills for a hike or paddle. And ending the day with a record on, candles lit, and a home cooked meal (lately it’s hand-rolled pasta and homemade sauce) and curling up with my two cats Walter + Llewelyn and my partner Josh for some card games and cocktails.

Secret/hidden talents?
I have a very green thumb! Our 1000sq ft apartment is home to over 65 plants!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten? The best piece of advice you give?
Received: Your job and your work don’t have to be the same thing. The most important thing is to show-up everyday for something you like doing.
Given: On Wednesdays, I like to share a tender weekly reminder to water your plants.
