El Alto, adjacent to La Paz, is high in the Bolivian Andes. Here, we partner with a family-run cooperative of artisan weavers led by Teofila who have been working together for more than 30 years. They weave with 100% alpaca wool. Despite being lighter, alpaca wool is often softer and warmer than sheep's wool. It also happens to be hypoallergenic.
