El Alto, adjacent to La Paz, in the Bolivian Andes, is at the highest populated altitude in the world. Here we partner with a family-run co-op of weavers led by Teofila that have been working together for more than 30 years.

Teofila and her workshop weave with 100% alpaca wool using simple pedal looms. Despite being lighter, alpaca wool is often softer and warmer than sheep's wool. It also happens to be hypoallergenic.
