Our favorite part about wool rugs is their long-lasting nature and durability. Follow these three steps to ensure that your rug has a long and healthy life!

  1. Vacuum once a week, or whenever it needs a little love.
  2. Beat twice a month. Take your rug outside and beat it with a broom or your hands to loosen up grit that can get deep within the fibers.
  3. Flip every few months. With the exception of our shag rugs, your rug has the same design on either side.
  4. For Pile and Shag Rugs, vacuum on low suction in the direction of the fibers. We recommend vacuuming Pile and Shag Rugs with a rug pad underneath to keep the rug in place while vacuuming.

In the event that your rug gets a small stain, address it immediately! Follow the spot-cleaning instructions. If the entire rug needs to be cleaned or it is a larger, deeper stain, bring the rug to a professional cleaner.

Wool is naturally water resistant. Dirt and mud will dry into grit or dust and can simply be vacuumed. If you try to remove mud or dirt while it is still wet, it may result in further staining.

For our naturally dyed rugs woven in Mexico, we do not recommend using any sort of cleaning solvent. Dampen the stained area with cold water using a clean white cloth. Leave the spot damp for 10-15 minutes and then gently blot with a dry, white cloth from both sides to draw out the stain. For all of our other wools, we recommend using a wool-safe stain remover. If the stain persists, we recommend dry cleaning.

Our pillow inserts are made in the USA with synthetic down which is a poly-cotton blend. We chose this option because it is hypoallergenic and cruelty-free. We understand that everyone has a personal preference for their pillow inserts. If you would like to use your own insert, use the code "NOINSERT" at checkout for $10 off each pillow in your cart and they will be shipped without an insert.

Yes! Our rugs are easily customizable by size. We can also customize our rugs by color with a $350 design fee, as long as it's a color within our palette. Custom rugs are made-to-order with a 90-120 day leadtime and are non-returnable. Reach out to help@minna-goods.com to start your custom project.

Our finished goods are all made in artisan workshops in Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Uruguay, and Bolivia. Our wallcoverings and printed fabrics are printed in Connecticut. Head to our Artisan Partners page for more information.
