The approach to our head rug weaver’s house is quite the trek up a very steep, winding road. The workshop is run by a young husband and wife team. This partnership is our longest standing collaboration and was formed before we really knew what MINNA was going to be. Over the years, we’ve begun to work with a few other small, family-run workshops to produce additional rug designs.

All of the rugs here are made of 100% naturally dyed churro (a breed of sheep) wool. Dyes are made from vegetables, plants, and nuts creating a stunning color palette. All designs begin as a sketch or a swatch, and the process of translating them to the loom is very casual and improvised.
