Cancuc is about a two hour drive from San Cristòbal through winding mountain roads. Once in the main town, we have about a mile walk to the cooperative we work with. This group is led by three young sisters - Ana, Petrona, and Natalia.

Here they weave on backstrap looms in a very iconic Cancuc style, which consists of incredibly intricate, almost pixelated designs. As artists of the craft, the three sisters are innovative and excited by designs that push the boundaries of the technique.
