In the northeast region of Cobán in Guatemala, we’ve partnered with a group of women backstrap loom weavers. The climate here is very warm and humid, so the traditional technique creates a very lightweight, gauzy cotton weave.

Patterns are formed using a delicate technique called 'pic bil' that requires very fine thread and the most controlled hand. We fell in love with these gossamer fabrics and thought they'd be perfect for bandanas.
