Product Story

Function reimagined. The Remnant Tote brings together remnants from two of our favorite fabrics. Lightweight and durable, its effortlessly bold composition makes it the perfect go-to tote. Design Story: Created using remnants resulting from a circular product design developed for one of our collaborators. Naturally, cutting circles from rectangular fabric creates scraps. We used larger pieces to create the contrasting geometric design, minimizing waste from our production process.

The Split Grid Repurposed Tote bag is part of our environmental commitment to minimize the waste we produce as an impact-driven textile business.

Made by Pedal Loom Weavers in Larráinzar, Mexico

In Larráinzar we work with two family-run cooperatives of weavers. The first workshop we began working with is one of the largest we’ve ever seen in Mexico with roughly 20-30 operating looms and employing many weavers in the region. Looking out at the mountains below, the view from atop the workshop is one of our favorites.

About these artisans

Both workshops use pedal looms and 100% cotton threads. By partnering with a second workshop in Llarráinzar, we have been able to expand our production capacity and employ additional weavers in the community.
