Inspired by elements of Sara's watercolor paintings, the Pathways Rug in Rain fills the room with earthy, graphic shapes. The frame-like shape helps anchor a space while the color palette brings a softer mood. This rug reminds us of an afternoon stroll after rainfall, when everything is glistening and serene.

The Pathways Rug features wool that is naturally dyed. Handwoven in partnership with a family-run workshop in Teotitlán de Valle, Mexico.

The approach to our head rug weaver’s house is quite the trek up a very steep, winding road. The workshop is run by a young husband and wife with three generations of weaving knowledge. This partnership is our longest standing collaboration, and a special one at that!

About these artisans

All of the rugs here are made of 100% naturally dyed churro (a breed of sheep) wool. Dyes are made from vegetables, plants, and nuts creating a stunning color palette. All designs begin as a sketch or a swatch, and the process of translating them to the loom is organic and improvised.
