The drive to Pantelhó from San Cristóbal, takes about two hours through winding, mountainous dirt roads. Here we work with a women-run cooperative made up of over 30 women, led by a mother-daughter duo.

They weave using traditional backstrap looms that are worn around their hips, allowing each panel to be no wider than the hips of the woman weaving. After each panel is woven, each panel is hand stitched together to create throws and pillows.
